The Annual Parish meeting is normally held in May each year. It is not a meeting of the Parish Council, but an assembly of the electors of the parish, at which they may raise any matter relevant to the parish, discuss it and vote upon it. As well as members of the Parish Council, we also aim to have present representatives from public organisations such as the Forestry Commission, the Police, Forest of Dean Street Wardens and Highways.
The Parish assembly may vote on any issue it wishes to discuss and pass resolutions for the Parish Council to consider. But it must be remembered that the assembly has no power of jurisdiction over the Parish Council - merely recommendations.
The meeting is chaired by the Chairman of the Parish Council. At the start of the meeting, a information booklet is circulated to all attendees, containing the agenda, minutes from the previous meeting, Chairman's report, and information on Parish Finances.
